Melody of the Soul

Not an ordinary metal blog!

Melody of the Soul

I call myself a wanderer, I really don't belong to anywhere. I love to travel, to read and write endlessly and of course, I love music. Music is the most important to me. A pathway to escape, a therapy to the soul... I am also an engineer-to-be :)

Best of 2016

It’s that time of the year again!

This year has been full with ups and downs on a personal level but also in the music world.. So many great albums have been released but we also lost many legends not only in the music world but also in the entertainment business in general… So I am sure this year will be unforgettable for many of us.

As a music journalist, this year has been full with interviews, live reports and awesome concerts as well as album releases for me. Some albums did not really captivate me as much whereas some albums still make me shiver! It was quite hard to choose my favorite top 10 records but I somehow managed to narrow it down to Top 10. So here it comes! (psst, there is also a surprise at the end :D) Continue reading “Best of 2016”

Project: Myrkgrav
Album: Takk og farvel; tida er blitt ei annen

Myrkgrav is a one-man folk metal project founded in 2003 by Lars Jensen in Norway. The aim of this project has been to blend the traditional side of Norwegian folk music (with the use of traditional instruments) and the extreme/harsher side of metal. The fans have been waiting for a debut album for a while; the recent release of this project has been “Vonde Auer” which has been released as a single on 2014… 2 years after this release, Myrkgrav is (kind-of) back with an interesting full-length record. At the same time, a chapter is closed in this project as this release can be considered as a farewell from Mr.Jensen. So here is “Takk og farvel; tida er blitt ei annen”, which means “Thank you and farewell; times have changed”).  Continue reading “[ALBUM REVIEW] Myrkgrav – Takk og farvel; tida er blitt ei annen”
